Day 1: departure to Kairouan (World Heritage Site) the fourth holiest city of Islam. - Arrival and visit of the best examples of Islamic architecture, the great mosque, the Mausoleum of the Barber and the Aghlabid Basins. Visit the Medina of Kairouan. Stroll through the narrow winding streets and explore the bustling marketplaces. Day 2 : After breakfast, drive by 4WD Jeep to oasis of the mountain Chebika & Tamerza and Ong Jemal where the Star Wars movie filming took place. Discover the landscapes at Chebika oasis with natural springs, visit the ruins of historic villages between mountains and oasis, enjoy a refreshing swim under the waterfalls of Tamerza. - Learn about the production of dates in Tunisia, and get to taste different sorts. Tunisian dates are referred to as the "queen of all dates" due to their translucent light color and soft, honey-like taste and are highly prized worldwide. - Lunch break at an exclusive Oasis in the heart of Tozeur - Drive to Douz via Chott El Jerid, the largest salt flat in the African Sahara where you will marvel at salt pans and salt sculptures - Arrival to Douz, the gateway to the Tunisian desert - Ride of your preference: Camel / Quad (EXTRA) ● Check in at Desert Camp (shared bathrooms) - Typical Berber dinner under the tents including sand bread making demonstration at Desert Camp Overnight in the Douz Desert to experience the dark skies for stargazing
Day 3: After breakfast, Departure to Matmata, the site of the fascinating underground dwellings of the Berbers - Arrival and visit of the Berber Village, you ll get to meet berber families and connect with locals from the region. Visit of Sidi Driss troglodyte hotel, served as the interior set for the Lars Moisture Farm and Luke Skywalker’s home at the beginning of Star Wars Episode III: “A New Hope” - Depart to El Jem amphitheatre (World Heritage Site) a rare Roman colosseum and one of the largest in the world.
